Can't create ... cust_main_county.taxnum

First off a couple of things unrelated to the error in the subject:

1) Ivan, thanx very much for the reply on my initial problem. It definitely
cleared things up. In retrospect, all the info is in the instructions but
my brain was incapable of processing it :)

2) Mailing list messages are not getting to my mailbox (which is otherwise
a-ok). I got Ivan's reply by browsing the archive. The confirms when I
originally signed up for list got here, but nothing since, including my own
message. 


Ok, the problem:

I skipped the section of the install instructions:
Create the `/usr/local/etc/freeside/counters.datasrc', and
`/usr/local/etc/freeside/export.datasrc' directories for each datasrc
     (owned by the freeside user). 

having no idea what it meant. Maybe this is what's causing the error
running fs-setup:

Can't create
/usr/local/etc/freeside/counters.DBI:mysql:freeside/cust_main_count
y.taxnum: No such file or directory at
/usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.005/FS/Record.
pm line 533

I've looked at the files but it's beyond me. I'm in need of help once again.
