Install Help

[Scream]

I have followed the install docs but i seem to be having a small issue
getting this puppy running ( perhaps i have missed something )

I am at the point of creation of the config files

just using the examples at the moment

made a dir /usr/local/etc/freeside/conf.DBI:mysql:freeside and put some of
these in there

when i attempt to run bin/fs-setup as freeside user
./fs-setup admin

Asks the max length  and any other radius stuff you want

then it spits out this error
Can't open /usr/local/etc/freeside/dbdef.DBI:mysql:freeside: Permission
denied at /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.6.1/DBIx/DBSchema.pm line 154,
<STDIN> line 3.

Ideas?
ownership of the conf.DBI dir is freeside user


Hopefully i am just shy of getting this thing running
