Unable to add records to domain because SOA is missing

To follow up on the reproduction of my error, you slave the domain to
an ip, then delete the salve ip.  Sorry that wasn't clear to start
with.

Naturally, you can fix this by deleting the domain, and recreating it.
But you can't do that if email addresses are hinged to that domain.
